California approved nurse aide programs must have a minimum of one hundred and sixty hours of training. Sixty hours are dedicated to classroom and laboratory instruction. The rest of one hundred hours are spent with clinical practice. The overall amount of time California nurse aide students spend in training is well above the mandatory seventy-five hours specified by federal regulations.
