If you take a look at your Texas nursing assistant certification card you will notice that there is no expiration date printed on it but according to the rules of the registry, in order to keep your certificate active you must call the Texas Nurse Aide Registry every two years to verify your personal and employment information. Also, a nurse aide renewing a certification must complete at least 24 hours of in-service education every two years that includes training in geriatrics and the care of residents with a dementia disorder, including Alzheimer’s disease.
