I had a CNA certification in Texas, but due to a move overseas, my certification is now out dated. We currently live in Kansas, and I want to pursue an LPN degree, however the school requires a CNA license for admission.

Because your Texas CNA certificate has expired, you need to repeat the nurse aide training and pass the Kansas CNA exam in order to become certified. An active nursing assistant certificate from Texas would have made you eligible for reciprocity but your status is expired. In Kansas reciprocity applicants looking for certification must pass the CNA exam.
