You should have received a notification by mail to renew your CNA certification. Most states notify you three months prior to the expiration date. Each certified nurse aide must complete and submit a renewal application. You need to show proof of work, as a CNA, for the required number of hours within the last two years in order to renew your certification.
Each state decides on a minimum number of work hours required for the nursing assistant certification renewal. An acceptable proof of employment includes: a pay stub, a payroll printout, or a notarized attestation form. Contact your state CNA registry and request an application of renewal or go on-line and print the application yourself. Follow all the instructions, complete the application fully and correctly and submit it as soon as possible.
