A certified nursing assistant who did not meet the certification renewal requirements is placed on inactive status. Certification renewal criteria include: performing nursing services for pay, for at least one day, within the last two years. Once a CNA is listed as inactive on the Missouri Nurse Aide Registry, she may not work as a nurse aide in a nursing facility.
