Furthermore, the state does not issue credentials, certificates or licenses to certified nursing assistants. To verify if an individual is indeed qualified to work as a CNA, employers must use the online verification system available through the Illinois Department of Public Health website. In addition to online services, verifications may be performed by mail, phone, or email.
