Not everyone needs to complete a CNA training class in Texas in order to become certified as a nurse aide. Some individuals are allowed to challenge the CNA exam only and thus obtain certification. Do you qualify? If you can answer yes to one of the following four scenarios then you are able to take the nursing assistant exam and skip the training classes. Have you completed a nursing assistant training class in a state other than Texas? Can you show proof of one hundred (100) hours of CNA training while in military service?
Do you have college transcripts that show you have completed a licensed vocational nurse or registered nurse program even though you are not licensed in Texas? Are you currently enrolled in an approved nursing school program and competent to provide basic client care? Individuals who meet one of these criteria and wish to sit for the nurse aide certification exam in Texas are qualified to do so without pursuing a CNA course. The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services considers the above mentioned training as the equivalent training received in a nurse aide class and encourages all interested individuals to schedule an exam at their convenience.

San Antonio Community College is one of the two-year educational institutions known for its commitment to provide a high-quality education at an affordable cost. The college has been preparing graduates for successful employment in the health care sector through the nursing assistant training programs conducted in San Antonio, Texas.
