CNA Classes in Texas Region 3 - Metroplex
What are some good tips for those who have completed a nurse aide class in Texas and are looking for their first job? It is important to clearly define your needs and keep them in mind when job hunting. One of those needs might be finding a full-time job, one that guarantees you forty hours of work per week. Full-time CNA positions offer many advantages which are not always that obvious. First of all, as a full-time employee you will benefit from health insurance which is absolutely necessary for health care workers. As a CNA you have an increased risk to become injured from lifting and repositioning residents and you might need medical treatment yourself.
Medical bills can pile up quickly when you don't have insurance coverage. Another benefit to working one full-time job instead of several part-time ones is that you will only travel to one location, saving time and money. Other employee benefits such as payed sick time, vacation time, and overtime pay are only offered to those who work a minimum of forty hours per week. Understand what your needs are and do not be afraid to ask for the position you truly need. With so many nursing homes and long-term care facilities looking for certified nursing assistants in Texas you will surely find a CNA job that fits your personal needs.

How do I transfer my CNA certification from Nevada to Texas?
Admin on September 11, 2009 at 11:51 PM
To transfer your Nevada CNA certification to Texas you need to complete the Request for Entry on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry Through Reciprocity. Complete section one of this application and send it to the nurse aide registry for the state where you are currently certified as a nursing assistant. The Nevada nurse aide registry will send it back to you after it completes section two. When both sections of the reciprocity form have been completed you need to send it to the Texas nurse aide registry. Do not forget to attach all the required copies of documents along with your application. If your nursing assistant certification does not show an expiration date, then you must also complete the Employment Verification form and send it to the Texas nurse aide registry (do not send this form if your certificate shows an expiration date).
