CNA Training Programs in Santa Clara County, California
There are several important facts you should know about nursing assistant training classes offered by health-care facilities. California-based health care facilities which offer CNA training programs are by law forbidden to charge students who they currently employ or those who have been offered employment upon graduation. This is a great way to become a nurse aide without paying any educational expenses. Keep in mind that you are not required to pay for a facility-provided, CNA training course regardless if the facility offers the training at their own location or if the training is offered through another facility such as a two-year community college, a regional vocational school, or an ATCS-approved school.
Furthermore, facilities that provide nursing assistant training are required to provide full-time employment to those who apply for nurse aide programs. Since health-care facilities receive state reimbursement for the costs associated with CNA training, they are required to pay a trainee the hourly wage of a full-time nursing assistant throughout duration of the nursing assistant training program. If you already hold a nurse aide certification and plan to continue to work in the health care industry, keep your record clear and avoid any work history of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property. Those types of findings will prevent you from renewing your CNA certificate.
