If your status on the registry is inactive then you have to retake the Missouri CNA competency examination in order to reactivate your certification. If your registry status is listed as expired then I believe you must retrain and then retake the competency exam. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, a CNA certificate is considered inactive if there was a two year break in the CNA's employment.
