The nursing assistant certification exam in New Jersey consists of two distinct parts: the skills evaluation and the written exam. Individuals who are eligible to sit for the nurse aide exam must take and pass the skills evaluation before taking the written or oral exam. The skills test is a hands-on evaluation which takes place at a long-term care facility or another approved site. The exam results for the hands-on test may take about ten days to be received while the results of the written part are disclosed immediately following the test.
