Having a nurse aide expired status on the Missouri registry means that the Department of Health and Senior Services' records show that you did not work for pay, as a CNA, for five consecutive years. If the registry shows your CNA status as expired, you are not eligible to work as a nursing assistant in a Missouri long-term care facility. The individual needs to submit proof of paid nursing service employment or complete a new CNA training course. If the person has a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certificate or Insulin Administration (IA) certificate, these certifications are also placed on expired status. Regaining active nurse aide status results in the reactivation of any additional certifications.
