Having an active CNA status on the Missouri nurse aide registry means that a nursing assistant has met all the state and federal requirements for training and testing. The person is qualified to be employed as a nurse aide in a long-term care facility as long as there are no negative findings listed on the registry. Negative findings include charges of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property. Before making an offer of employment, an employer needs to verify that the aide does not have a Federal Indicator and that she is not listed on the Missouri Employee Disqualification List (EDL).
