You are eligible for certification renewal even if you are a privately employed nursing assistant. In this case you must have your patient’s registered nurse clearly sign the renewal application and provide her RN license number. The patient’s primary doctor can also sign the renewal form and provide their office telephone number. Only signatures from the client's nurse or doctor will be accepted by the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry.
