The nurse aide exam in Idaho can not be challenged by someone who received training as a paramedic, EMT, former military medic or medical assistant. The training courses required for the above mentioned professions do not meet the OBRA criteria in Idaho for a CNA program. The Omnibus Reconciliation Act was passed by Congress in 1987, and it specifies the standards and requirements for trained nursing assistants. Nursing students are allowed to challenge the examination.
